Some of the visual ideas were fun and I liked the “I have no holes” character, but yeah almost everything about this feels like a misfire. Jonathan Majors is very good but Evangeline Lily feels completely wasted despite having her character’s name in the title. My expectations were appropriately low going in so I didn’t hate it, but the premise of this one definitely robs the film of the usual Ant-Man charm and nothing feels very engaging. I've seen two movies (that I’d previously never seen) since we last convened for MOVIE MONDAY.Īnt-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania - Not a ton to say about this one, I think. At that point he wanted to take a break so we did some Roblox game he's into right now ("Doors"). He kept wanting to be jump master but I had to teach him that if you drop early you're gonna be fighting from the very beginning. Then we broke for lunch and I told him how the real game never went that well, so when we went to play a bit more and now out of placement and in genpop, we had much more mixed results and got wiped two or three times, haha. As a result, we won AGAIN and my kid even got the winning shot. However, it was helpful to have him dishing out so much damage so I could focus on teaching my kid more stuff. So then we go into the second placement match and the third guy we drew was obviously a smurf because he spun off on his own and was kicking butt. I told him how awesome it was that we won his first match ever and he was clearly really excited. At the end, WE WERE THE CHAMPIONS, and I had like six kills recorded, and he had one the third guy we were matched with was very new too but did alright. I felt bad because to my surprise the majority of the other players were clearly also brand new because while I was trying to call out to him to teach him smart places to stand or what items to use, I was ripping people apart. He's brand new so after he finished the training course we were paired up into placement matches. Not really directly related to the game but finally my son and I got to play together for the first time yesterday, and it was so much fun.
