

Choices that just aren't that impactful. But typically, they fall into a few categories: In Witcher 3, you get to make lots of choices, and those choices do have some narrative impact. To give an example, look at Witcher 3, a game that has often been lauded for its implementation of player choice into narrative, but that kinda reveals the limitations of those choices in most games. But its also explicitly about choose-your-own-adventure narratives, and how inevitably they force the characters down a pretty limited range of narrative outcomes. The new Black Mirror episode Bandersnatch is more or less a choose-your-own-adventure game, not unlike the live action version of a Telltale game.
